CUSTOMER INFORMATION

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 3, 2026
OCA Express Courier and Logistics Service Ltd. is responsible for the personal information it processes to provide its services. This Policy explains what we collect, how we use and share it, and how you can contact us about your information.

1. Information we collect

We collect account and contact details, including name, telephone number, email address, billing or delivery address, customer number and TRN where required for customs. Shipment information includes tracking numbers, invoices, declarations, package labels, arrival and processing scans, package photographs, handling records, payment records and customer-service or claims correspondence.

Where another person collects for you, we record the authorization and relevant collection details. Government-issued ID is visually checked at collection; we do not copy, photograph or retain the ID document. TRN collection for customs is separate from this visual ID check.

2. Why we use information

We use information to establish and manage accounts, identify packages, arrange shipping and clearance, calculate and collect charges, notify customers, authorize collection and delivery, investigate issues, process claims, prevent misuse and meet applicable legal obligations. We use the appropriate lawful basis for each purpose, including service performance, legal obligations and consent where required.

Service messages about a shipment, payment or account are separate from promotional messages. Promotional use must respect applicable consent and objection requirements. We do not sell personal information for third-party marketing.

3. Sharing and overseas processing

Relevant information may be shared with customs and other authorities, overseas warehouse partners, carriers, clearance and delivery providers, payment providers and service providers operating our account and shipment systems, where needed for the stated purposes or required by law. An authorized collector receives only information needed for collection. Co-loading partners receive relevant shipment information for their own consignments.

International shipping may involve processing in the United States, China and other locations used for the relevant shipment or supporting services. Transfers must meet applicable Jamaican data-protection requirements and use the appropriate safeguards or lawful transfer basis. We limit shared information to what is needed for the purpose.

4. Unknown-package enquiries

Package records may be used to identify an unknown package and verify an ownership claim. In customer-facing unknown-package lists, tracking references are limited to the last three digits. Full tracking details, invoices and other ownership evidence must be supplied privately for verification. A partial tracking match alone is not sufficient proof of ownership.

5. Retention and deletion

Ordinary account information is retained while the account is active and for up to 12 months after closure. Shipment, financial, customs, collection-authorization and claims records may need to be retained longer where required by law or necessary to resolve an outstanding transaction, investigation or dispute. Such exceptions are limited to the necessary records and period, with access restricted to the relevant purpose.

We review information for deletion or anonymization when it is no longer needed. Account closure does not immediately erase records that must be retained under an applicable legal requirement. ID documents visually checked at collection are not retained under the ordinary collection process.

6. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information and limit access to people and service providers who need it for their duties. These measures must support secure handling, access control and appropriate disposal. Customers should protect login details and promptly report suspected unauthorized account use. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Where a personal-data breach occurs, OCA will assess the incident and make any notifications required under applicable law.

7. Website, customer portal and cookies

Our website links to the customer portal for registration, login and package tracking. Information submitted through that portal is used for the relevant account and shipping services. External sites and services may also have their own privacy notices.

Cookies or similar technologies used for site operation should be explained through the site’s relevant notices. Where optional analytics or advertising technologies require consent, they must not be enabled before that consent is obtained. Browser settings can control cookies, although disabling essential functions may affect use of the site.

8. Your rights and enquiries

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate details and other available remedies, and may object to certain processing or withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. A withdrawal does not invalidate earlier lawful processing or prevent processing required for a separate lawful purpose.

Contact us with enough information to identify your account and explain the request. We may verify your identity before disclosing or changing information. We will explain where a request cannot be fulfilled because of an applicable legal requirement. You may also raise a data-protection concern with Jamaica’s Office of the Information Commissioner at oic.gov.jm.
