Collection & Storage Policy

Last updated: October 3, 2026
This Policy applies to package identification, authorized collection, storage and unclaimed-package handling. Claims and compensation are addressed in our Terms of Service.

1. Collection and authorized pickup

Collect only after your package is marked Ready for Pickup and applicable charges are paid, unless an approved credit arrangement applies. Present valid government-issued ID for visual verification. Staff do not copy, photograph or retain the ID document.

An authorized collector must be listed on your account or otherwise verified through OCA’s authorization process, and must show their own valid government-issued ID. Pickup authority permits collection of the specified packages; it does not automatically permit changes to the account or access to unrelated customer information. Inspect the package at handover and report visible concerns promptly.

2. Free storage and daily charges

Seven calendar days of free storage apply after the package is marked Ready for Pickup and the customer is notified. From day eight, storage is J$100 per package per calendar day until collection. Storage begins from pickup availability and notification, rather than the seller’s delivery to the overseas warehouse. Applicable storage charges must be included in the amount payable before release.

3. Identified packages left uncollected

Customer packages still uncollected after 30 calendar days from Ready for Pickup notification are liquidated, subject to applicable law. The 30-day period includes the initial seven free storage days; it is not an additional 30 days after free storage ends. OCA sends email notifications at each notification interval to the email address on the customer account. These emails provide the relevant storage reminder, applicable charges and liquidation warning or collection deadline. Customers must keep their email address current and monitor these notices. Storage charges accrue at J$100 per package per calendar day from day eight while the package remains in storage.

4. Unknown packages held in Miami

An unknown package is one that cannot be reliably assigned to a customer or partner because its shipping information is missing, incorrect or insufficient. Unknown packages remain in Miami until ownership is identified and verified; they are no longer sent to Jamaica unidentified. Provide the full tracking number, invoice and other requested ownership evidence. A J$500 identification/handling fee applies. OCA may open a package solely as necessary to identify its owner, and record the identification process.

After verification, the package is prepared for the next available shipment. Miami unknown packages held for more than 45 calendar days from warehouse receipt may become eligible for liquidation or disposal, subject to applicable law and reasonable identification and notice efforts. Existing unknown packages in Jamaica are handled through the applicable local identification and liquidation process.

5. Receipt records, enquiries and claims

Arrival Scan is the principal warehouse receipt record. If a seller marks an item delivered but no Arrival Scan exists, receipt must be investigated and otherwise verified. Customer-facing unknown lists show only the last three tracking digits; send full details privately. Storage and unknown-package status do not automatically determine a claim decision. OCA investigates claims under the Terms of Service and applicable law.
